• I must confess that I cannot recall when that letter was even sent...
• Can you feel it? The walls... crumbling. They are coming through, one terrible whisper at a time.
• Once, this ruin was the envy of the valley.
• Remember, overconfidence is a slow and insidious destroyer.

• Despondent Ablutions

I can see the darkness in your eyes. Your next effort will shred the mind and you shall become another phantom to haunt me.

• Quest cooldown

You are not ready. Return when you are and the next task will be waiting. The corruption has had eternity to fester and grow. A few days are of little import, in the end.

• This NPC, the NPCs near him, the quests he is involved in, and the area he is found in (as well as related mobs) are all references to and based off of the game by Red Hook. His voice actor - Wayne June - is also the VA for the Narrator in that game. This is further confirmed by the presence of an insanity-like mechanic, as well as "curios" that can be interacted with for buffs/debuffs, both popular mechanics of that game.

Given the fact that he appears as an undead quest giver for Horde players, he may be considered a Forsaken.
