Xal'atoh, Desecrated Image of Gorehowl

Xal'atoh, Desecrated Image of Gorehowl, is the weapon wielded by Garrosh Hellscream during the Siege of Orgrimmar, after discarding the axe of his father Grommash Hellscream, Gorehowl, under the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

This item drops from Garrosh Hellscream in Siege of Orgrimmar.

Xal'atoh will occasionally whisper to its wielder, much in the same manner as the Corrupted Ashbringer. The whispers occur both with the actual weapon equipped, and if you transmogrify your weapon to Xal'atoh.

• "You should kill them all. You must kill them all."
• "Eyes are the windows to the soul... Shutter them forever."
• "Pluck their wings... Leave them broken."
• "Pay the cost of greatness."
• "All should bow before you... MAKE THEM!"
• "All that you have accomplished, all that you have won... Yet still you lick the boots of kings."
• "Carve more slowly, that I may feed."
• "Embrace your rage."
• "Caress your fear."
• "Gorge your hatred."
• "Voice your doubts."
• "When you walk among the black forest, you will see..."
• "I can taste the essence of your soul, it is sweet..."

When the player dies:

• "With each thread unraveled, a step closer to my realm..."
• "Another blemish on your soul."
• "You will rest in Ny'alotha."

• Xal'atoh could be seen as a twisted mirror image of Gorehowl in conception as well as design. While Grom used Gorehowl in his last moments to free the Orcish Horde from enslavement, Garrosh wished to use Xal'atoh as a tool to subjugate the rest of the world to his will.
• Its name is very similar to Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire, further pointing towards their shared origin as tools created by the power of the Old Gods. Both also whisper to the wielder.
