High Sage Zelkyr

High Sage Zelkyr was the predecessor of High Sage Viryx. He possessed the ability to see through the eyes of kaliri.

As High Sage of the Adherents of Rukhmar Zelkyr oversaw much. He had Iskar and Viryx paired together as young Adherents in hopes that it would teach the brilliant but headstrong Viryx responsibility.

After punishing Iskar with a whip known as Rukhmar's Tail, he assigned him to spy on Viryx to ensure her encounter with a traitorous Adherent known as Ikiss had no lasting effect on her. Unbeknownst to either, he was also using his ability to peer through the eyes of kaliri to watch her as well.

During the ceremony of Ikiss' banishment, he wielded the Talon of Rukhmar to cut the former Adherent's wings off.

Zelkyr and his bladetalons later burst into Viryx's roost after she read (and then burnt) a scroll obtained from an Outcast. He ordered Iskar be apprehended and complimented Viryx's decision to burn the scroll and keep the secret of Terokk's fall to herself.

When Viryx was brought before Iskar during his banishment in a private ceremony, Zelkyr apologized to Viryx for never punishing her transgressions firmly enough and admitted she needed to learn consequence, not responsibility. He then allowed her to wield the Talon of Rukhmar and asked if she would live in light or shadow.

He might not have died of natural causes.
