Insectoid

Insectoid is a term that has been used to refer to several insect-like creatures.

• — A race of highly intelligent, greatly expansionistic and incredibly evil insectoids who ruled the far western lands of old Kalimdor, spawned from the Old Gods themselves.
• — A race of insectoids that dwell in the Dread Wastes and Townlong Steppes of Pandaria. Descendants of the aqir.
• — Are an ancient insectoid race in Northrend, but they have also been called arachnids.
• — An ancient sentient insectoid race who once vied for dominance of all of Kalimdor. Descendants of the aqir. They sought to conquer the world.
• — A non-sentient insectoid race found primarily in Kalimdor.
• Ravagers — A form of insectoid predator native to Outland as well as the alternate Draenor.
• Scythid — insectoids inhabiting the wilds in the Dragon Isles.

• While the nerubians, much like the qiraji and mantid, are descendants of the insectoid aqir, they are typically referred to as arachnids, not insectoids.
