Gaze of the Black Prince

Gaze of the Black Prince is a buff that passively doubles The Black Prince reputation standing gains and increases the drop chances on the legendary quest items: Sigil of Power, Sigil of Wisdom, Titan Runestone, and Secrets of the Empire. It is automatically active on all characters during designated time windows, and persists through death, logging out, and similar interruptions until Blizzard deactivates it itself.

Previous instances of the buff lasted two weeks each, but the current one is expected to last through the release of Patch 6.0.2, the major patch updating the game for the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is likely to be the final buff period, since the entire quest line will be removed once the expansion is released.

The first three buff windows each lasted two weeks, and the final period beginning at 10 am on September 2 was initially announced to last two weeks as well. This last buff was later extended to remain active until the release of Patch 6.0.2 on October 14, 2014. Due to an error in the coding, it ended one day early instead.

The period beginning on Tuesday, August 12 was originally announced to begin on Sunday, August 17. It went live on August 12 instead, and the Blizzard blog entry was updated accordingly.
