Captain Garran Vimes

Captain Garran Vimes is a human quest giver located in Foothold Citadel on Theramore Isle in Dustwallow Marsh. He was currently investigating the burning of the Shady Rest Inn. He knows the orcish language.

Shortly before the Attack on Theramore Isle, generals who came to defend Theramore were introduced to Vimes. He was tasked to show them the city's defenses. It is unknown what became of him during the bombing.

The guards of Theramore are the finest group of Alliance soldiers based in Kalimdor. It is our duty to uphold the laws of the Alliance even so far away from our homes.

• Gossip

We don't know much about the burning of the Shady Rest Inn, except that James Hyal's wife and child were unable to escape.

We managed to drag James out, but he hasn't been the same since.

We have many leads but not much evidence. It is our hope that through the efforts of the guard and the vigilant help of the people of Theramore, we will unravel this terrible crime.

If you would like to lend assistance to the investigation, what remains of the inn can be found at the border to the Barrens.

• Captain Garran Vimes, along with Commander Samaul, is probably a reference to Commander (formerly Captain) Samuel Vimes of the Ankh-Morpork City Guard, in the popular Discworld series of novels.

He may be related to Commander Vines.
