Mountaineer

Mountaineers are a type of guard found in dwarven land. They are mostly found in Khaz Modan, but can also be found in other dwarven territories such as Dun Garok in Hillsbrad Foothills and Dun Baldar in Alterac Valley.

Some are armed with rifles acting as riflemen along with their usual axes or warhammers. Most mountaineers wear green uniforms, but a few have been spotted wearing a purple or yellow uniform.

At some point, several Frostmane trolls came too close to Ironforge and attacked dwarves and Queen Eimear. At least one mountaineer died while another one brought King Magni to the battlefield.

With the Dark Iron clan becoming official members of the Alliance, they have been accepted as mountaineers and have their own uniform.

Numerous mountaineers were among the forces defending Dun Morogh during Legion Invasions.

During the Fourth War, several mountaineers participated in the Battle for Stromgarde in the Arathi Highlands.
