Warcraft: The Official Movie Novelization

Last wiki revision 2023-09-07

Warcraft: The Official Movie Novelization is the novelization of the 2016 film Warcraft. It is written by Christie Golden, with story by Chris Metzen.

''The peaceful realm of Azeroth stands on the brink of war as its civilization faces a fearsome race of invaders: Orc warriors fleeing their dying home to colonize another. As a portal opens to connect the two worlds, one army faces destruction and the other faces extinction. From opposing sides, two heroes are set on a collision course that will decide the fate of their family, their people and their home. So begins a spectacular saga of power and sacrifice in which war has many faces, and everyone fights for something.''

While the novelization features abundant dialogue not featured in the Warcraft film, along with numerous extra scenes and even some minor characters, in some places it specifically diverges from the film's depiction. The below table lists the main differences.

  • The line "Where is the Guardian?" said by the Kul Tiran delegate in the book is said by the Lordaerian Delegate in the movie.

In addition to extended dialogue and events within the scenes seen in the film, the novelization also includes numerous additional scenes. Some of these are expected to feature in the film's extended edition or director's cut, if released.
