Cortinarius
Last wiki revision 2022-11-19
Cortinarius is a sylvar first encountered in the Stalks in Ardenweald. Marasmius called him "Cort". Called the Chief Mushroomancer, he disappeared some time after the anima drought began. After unsuccessfully denying Drust-possessed fae access to the mushroom ring network, he was discovered near the Stalks by an adventurer who was trying to help repair the network for the Night Fae Covenant. He helps to fend off the Drust with the help of Marasmius, and later relocates to the Ring where he acts as quartermaster for Marasmius.

- Welcome to The Ring, friend. Some say this is the center of Ardenweald, or where Marasmius first grew. Only he knows for sure.
- The Ring used to be a way station of sorts, a hub where you could travel almost anywhere in Ardenweald.
- With the passage of time and the recent drought, even Marasmius has lost some of his paths. Perhaps with enough anima the damage can be reversed...
- For now, it is the duty of the mushroomancers to tend to Marasmius. We will rebuild Ardenweald's roots stronger than before, and we will ensure its survival.
- Honorary mushroomancer, eh? Marasmius really seems to have taken a shine to you. Welcome to the team!
- Uh, it was just me before. But I'm glad you're here now! As part of your mushroomancer duties you will have access to the paths of Marasmius. You also get access to a number of exciting perks and mushroomancer-exclusive equipment. As you help me and Marasmius you'll earn tokens that I can exchange for you.
- He is named after the fungus genus , which is the likely basis of the actual appearance of Marasmius.
