Jhordy Lapforge

Jhordy Lapforge is a gnome engineer located in Gadgetzan in Tanaris. He gives out a recipe for artisan gnome engineers. He is working on a teleporter, and wears a yellow shirt and goggles. He can teach you how to create and use an Ultrasafe Transporter that will teleport you to Gadgetzan.

Jhordy took part in Operation: Gnomeregan when on Gelbin Mekkatorque's orders, he transported the High Tinker and any adventurers with him out of harm's way at the end of the quest.

He was present during the Legion Invasions.

With some of technology that was recovered by bold gnomes venturing into Gnomeregan, I have managed to construct my greatest invention: The Matter Transporter! All I need now is a skilled Gnomish Engineer to build a powerful beacon attuned to the transporter.

• Once you have built the device, you simply activate the device to be whisked away to lovely Gadgetzan! Nearly everyone who has used the device has arrived on the pad here looking just the way they did when they began!

• There have been some reported problems with transportees being replaced by their evil selves from an alternative universe, but I'm sure we will have that worked out soon...

If you figure out any way to improve the device let me know!

• Post-schematic

• Jhordy can be seen in the image at the top of the screen during a character transfer.
• He is clearly an homage to Lt. Cmdr. Geordi LaForge, the chief engineer of the U.S.S. Enterprise D in the Star Trek universe. He even has yellow goggles, a homage to his Star Trek counterpart's V.I.S.O.R. Other teleporter operators names after Star Trek engineers include Smiles O'Byron (Miles O'Brien) and Scooty (Scotty).
