Ash'alah

Ash'alah is Tyrande Whisperwind's saber cat. She has been with Tyrande since before the War of the Ancients and can be seen in a piece of art alongside Tyrande as a cub while the young priestess visited with Cenarius, just before the war. It is unknown where Ash'alah was during the war itself, but she nonetheless survived and became Tyrande's life-long companion and battle-mount.

Tyrande rode Ash'alah during the Third War, Garrosh's invasion of Ashenvale during the Cataclysm, the occupation of the Temple of the Red Crane in Krasarang Wilds on Pandaria, at the Siege of Orgrimmar, in Val'sharah and Suramar on the Broken Isles during the third invasion of the Burning Legion, and in Darkshore during the Fourth War. Tyrande rides Ash'alah in the Emerald Dream when defending Amirdrassil.

• The Ultimate Visual Guide refers to Ash'alah as both a nightsaber and a frostsaber, though she has the coloration of a frostsaber.
• Ash'alah has a nightsaber's bridle with her name engraved on the side, in elegant script.
• Ash'alah apparently has several progeny, including Ash'ana.
