Soul Cinders

Soul Cinders drops from layer bosses in Torghast, Tower of the Damned from layers 9 and above. Just like Soul Ash, the Runecarver uses soul cinders to enhance Shadowlands legendaries.

Just like with Soul Ash, the first time a layer boss is defeated, it will drop Soul Ash. Soul Cinders start dropping in layer nine. In an attempt to not force players to run trivial layers, they can skip ahead to higher unlocked layers and loot the Soul Cinders from all lower layers.

Additionally, each Covenant assault will award 50 Soul Cinders, and the Tormentor's Cache from Tormentors of Torghast will contain 50 cinders.

Beyond that, some patch 9.1-added Adventures will award cinders, among other things, including: Soul Cinders can be transferred to other characters on the same account by purchasing Packaged Soul Cinders from Bonesmith Heirmir in Korthia.

Soul Cinders is used to craft and upgrade legendaries with the Runecarver. Higher base-level items require more soul ash, and players can spend the difference in costs to upgrade. For instance, to move from an item level 210 item to an item level 225 item, they will need to spend 1200 Soul Ash.
