The Jar of Ashes teaches you how to summon an Ashen Chomper, a mawrat companion. This item drops from Custodian Thonar, Cellblock Sentinel, and Warden Skoldus in the Skoldus Hall wing of Torghast, Tower of the Damned.
Sometimes it is best to leave what strange creature you found in a mysterious jar in the depths of Torghast alone.
