Carapace of N'Zoth

Last wiki revision 2022-06-11

Carapace of N'Zoth is an encounter in Ny'alotha, the Waking City in which the Fury of N'Zoth is fought.

Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve is mandatory for this encounter. If you do not have the cloak, you'll immediately be charmed at the start of the boss fight and your raid group will have to kill you.

''At the center of Ny'alotha stands a dread mountain of flesh, teeming with eyes and tendrils of unfettered corruption. Madness itself seeps from the writhing mass, eroding the sanity of all who approach it. This is the heart of the Black Empire, N'Zoth's seat of power, the body of a god.''

N'Zoth rallies his physical defenses, retreating deeper into his carapace at 50% and 50% health. Players' sanity balances tenuously throughout the encounter. Wrathion allows players to utilize their [Experimental Blacktalon Shroud] to recover from Wrathion's [Anchor of Sanity]. Losing all sanity grants [Gift of N'Zoth], then transforms a player into a [Servant of N'Zoth]. Players lose access to Wrathion's aid in the final stage.

  • Targets afflicted with [Adaptive Membrane] inflict increased Physical damage and are immune to crowd control and interrupts.
  • Move away from your allies when afflicted with [Madness Bomb] and [Insanity Bomb].
  • Utilize [Experimental Blacktalon Shroud] during Stage 1 and Stage 2 to recover sanity by Wrathion's side.
  • Interrupt [Breed Madness] and [Cyst Genesis].
  • Move away from your allies when afflicted with [Madness Bomb] and [Insanity Bomb].
  • [Adaptive Membrane] transfers full damage to the wearer only if the absorb shield is broken before the duration expires.

''A writhing mass of flesh, eyes, and tentacles ley like a mountain ahead. Tendrils of corruption and fear seep from the hulking body. This is the core of the Black Empire, the seat of N'Zoth's power, within the body of a god.''
