Attack Rating
Last wiki revision 2020-03-28
Attack Rating, or AR, a weapon attribute and modifying skill. It is part of the equation to determine your likelihood to hit a target. The maximum skill for a character is equal to five times your level plus any bonuses from talents, buffs, items, etc.
E.g., for a level 60 player, the maximum skill is 300 plus bonuses; for a level 70 character, 350 plus bonuses.
Attack Rating is sometimes referred to as weapon skill when discussing player attack ratings.
In Patch 2.3.0, all item bonuses, talents, and racial bonuses that improved Attack Rating were replaced with Expertise or increases to Critical Strike chance. It is no longer possible to increase your Attack Rating beyond your (level * 5).
