Jarim Balnir

Jarim Balnir was the son of the horsebreeder Jorum Balnir and his wife Vara, and a childhood friend of Prince Arthas Menethil. He was the same age as Arthas. Neither of the boys cared that a horsebreeder's son wasn't a proper companion for a prince, and their parents didn't try to stop the friendship. One winter day when Jarim and Arthas were throwing snowballs and playing Guards and Bandits, Jorum invited the boys to assist the horse Brightmane as she gave birth to her son Invincible, who later became Arthas' own steed.

During the winter storm that led to the death of Invincible, it was Jarim and his father who found Arthas and rescued the prince from freezing to death in the woods near the Balnir Farmstead.

After murdering his father, Arthas returned to the Balnir Farmstead to revive Invincible and found that the Balnirs had all been killed by the very Scourge that he was now a part of.
