The Not-Scientific Method

Last wiki revision 2022-05-28

Test the Broken Helm on an activated Lexicon Librarian and observe the results.

  • Upload Phrases to Librarian
  • Use Broken Helm on Librarian
  • Observe Results
  • Lexicon Librarian subdued

The language of the First Ones is not static like most others. It evolves.

Creatures like the sentries are more advanced than your average poultrid, obviously. Their more complex thought processes give them an innate resistance to the invaders' overriding magic.

But you should not take my word for it. We can actually test this!

In the grotto there is a librarian. Take those phrases you memorized and infuse them into it. Then try out your helm.

You will receive:

  • 10,200 XP
  • +75 reputation with The Enlightened
  • Emblem of Renown

Have you tested the theory? Am I right?

You see! It took far longer for Domination to overtake the librarian's native purposing.

Of course it did fall in the end, but I would call that a success for your particular interest.

Do not worry, another automa will take that one's place. There must always be a librarian.

On accept:

  • say

Speaking to Eru again:

  • First, speak to me if you need to remember the phrases. I will remind you.
  • Then, infuse those phrases into the Librarian.
  • Once they are infused, use that magic helm you're carrying on it and observe what happens.
  • If all goes according to plan, the Librarian should show you what you're looking for. Which might require a bit of a violent reset.
  • Clear as a star-set on the Plains of Ere'latha, yes?

Picking the second option simply brings up the same gossip text again, but with another option:

Interact with the Lexicon Librarian to infuse them with the phrases:

  • say or say if translated

Then it's time for round three of using the helm:

The runes above the Librarian's head disappear one by one, and then it turns hostile:

  • say or say if translated
  • say or say if translated

Kill it:

  • say
