The New Horde

"The New Horde" is a section of the History of Warcraft, Chapter IV. It is set after Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal and recounts the events of the novel Lord of the Clans.

Found at:

• Tower of Northwatch Hold in Southern Barrens.
• The Royal Library of Stormwind Keep in Stormwind, next to the right column just as you enter the library)
• Stonard in Swamp of Sorrows - building with the trainers

Timeline:

• ← Previous book: Lethargy of the Orcs
• → Next book: War of the Spider (History of Warcraft)

• These events are covered in the novel Lord of the Clans and are connected to Of Blood and Honor.

• The book mentions that "many of the veteran chieftains" supported Thrall, but in later lore, Grom Hellscream was the only Horde chieftain around on Azeroth that would have done so, and he was never put in an internment camp.

At the time this lore book was written, Kilrogg Deadeye and Kargath Bladefist were on Azeroth and alive. The other clan chieftains like Zuluhed the Whacked and Mogor were either in clans that opposed the Horde at the time or were on Draenor.

• The non-canon Warcraft Adventures: Lord of the Clans also depicted Kargath and Kilrogg supporting Thrall as Warchief.
• Later, the fate of Kilrogg and Kargath was retconned in World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade and Beyond the Dark Portal, where they died (Kilrogg) or never left Draenor (Kargath).
