Serpent ward

Last wiki revision 2022-06-16

Serpent wards (also known as serpent totems and searing totems) are totems used primarily by trolls to deal damage.

The Darkspear tribe used them during the Attack on Theramore Isle, as well as during the events of Battlefield: Barrens.

In The Frozen Throne, serpent wards are mainly employed by troll Shadow Hunters.

  • The Totem of Tikti uses the early serpent ward model, yet it is unknown if it actually is a serpent ward.
  • During the Dagger in the Dark scenario, Vol'jin summons serpent wards to aid him and the adventurers accompanying him.
  • Serpent wards were deployed during the world event Battlefield: Barrens.
  • Although this world event happened after Patch 5.1.0 – where the serpent ward model was updated – the ones seen in the Northern Barrens used the old model.
  • Shaman characters have access to the Vol'jin's Serpent Totem toy, summoning a scaled down version of Vol'jin's serpent ward that attacks critters for 1 minute. It is sold by Flamesmith Lanying located at the Heart of Azeroth or by Elementalist Sharvak found at the Throne of the Elements in Nagrand.
  • Serpent Wards can be summoned by enemies in the Battle for Stromgarde.

The murloc Ogloop of the Wide Grin tribe uses serpent wards in fights. The ghostly, red snakes of the magical totems release fireballs.

  • Healing ward
  • Sentry ward‎
  • Glyph of Flaming Serpent
