Armsmaster Harlan

Armsmaster Harlan is a human located in the Scarlet Halls wing of the Scarlet Monastery. He serves as the second boss of the dungeon.

''The weapons of the Scarlet Crusade are many, and new initiates must be indoctrinated in the use of blade, hammer, arrow, and shield--effective tools against the undead. Armsmaster Harlan has dedicated his life to the art of wielding these indelicate instruments, and he is pleased to provide a demonstration for the Crusade's blasphemous enemies.''

The tank should, if possible, taunt and tank the boss upstairs, near the entrance to Harlan's room. The boss should be tanked standing sideways to the door, and the rest of the party should stand behind the boss because of his Dragon's Reach attack (80% weapon damage in front the caster). Scarlet Defenders will join the fight on occasion and they'll come through the door. This is one of the reasons Harlan is best tanked upstairs. Let the tank get aggro, then quickly do 600 damage (60,000 damage on heroic) to them to break their armor, then finish them off, if possible. Remember that Scarlet Defenders take 90% less from area effect damage (AOEs).

The major part of this fight is Blades of Light. He will jump to the center of the room and wind up a six second cast before starting Blades of Light. Being upstairs will allow everyone to have time to jump back down and then run back up, while avoiding him. Harlan should finish Blades of Light right where he started. Everyone should resume starting positions and repeat until the boss is dead. Blades of Light is pretty much an insta-kill on heroic mode. If the tank or the healer gets sucked in you should just wipe, unless Harlan's life is near dead.

During Blades of Light the tank should, if possible, taunt off the Scarlet Defenders off the healer or anyone else who might have them. Luckily the boss's attack also sucks the adds and makes quick work of them (it will kill them if they have no armor on).
