Captain Alpert

Captain Alpert is a human quest giver stationed at Moonbrook in Westfall.

He is an officer of the Westfall Brigade, and one of the best soldiers under Marshal Gryan Stoutmantle. After the end of the war against the Lich King, and the return of the Brigade in Westfall, he was sent to Moonbrook in order to watch and protect the town with a company of Sentinel Hill troopers.

Following the Cataclysm, he has been investigating the strange activity in Moonbrook. When the homeless activity in the area has quadrupled, he therefore suspected that something was going on. He later received help from an Alliance adventurer, sent by Gryan Stoutmantle to support his investigation. As he and his men have noticed a rise in violent acts amongst the homeless, he suspected that something or someone was getting them all riled up, and ordered the adventurer to find any evidence that would allow them to trace the source of the pamphlets distributed by a group of thugs recently arrived in the town.

During their research, Alpert and the adventurer discovered that the person in charge of the propaganda against the kingdom was a certain “V”, which made him think of Edwin VanCleef, but he confirmed that the latter had been dead for years. He subsequently ordered the adventurer to attend the meeting of the “Shadowy figure” to retrieve information, as the homeless were starting to mobilize in the town. Following the speech, where they learned that a civil revolution was being set up against King Varian Wrynn and the Kingdom of Stormwind, he decided that it was time to find out who was responsible behind this threat.

He enlisted the aid of the draenei shaman Thoralius the Wise, a friend of Gryan Stoutmentle who has recently come to Westfall to study the elemental devastation, in order to discover the identity of this shadowy figure. Through the ritual of the shaman, they discovered the existence of Vanessa VanCleef, the daughter of Edwin VanCleef, and the one behind the recent resurgence of the Defias Brotherhood in the region.

During the third invasion of the Legion, Alpert was among the defenders of Westfall under the leadership of Gryan Stoutmantle against the demonic invasions.
