Red Rider Air Rifle

Red Rider Air Rifle can be found inside the during Winter Veil 2009. As of 5 January 2011, it is now available for purchase from Jepetto Joybuzz in Dalaran.

• Having this item awards the Red Rider Air Rifle (achievement), introduced in patch 4.3.0.
• Using the rifle on the opposing faction's leadership is the requirement of the achievement /

• The rifle has a short cast time and like many other ranged weapons, there is a minimum range of 5 yards. The maximum range is 25 yards.
• The rifle does not always hit the target, which is required by the achievement. Missing, however, will still aggro the target by startling it. Hit rating does not appear to be factor.
• The rifle will sometimes backfire right in the eye! This will stun the player for five seconds and, like everything else with the rifle, is an obvious reference to A Christmas Story.
• Named after the popular toy Red Ryder BB Gun which was heavily featured in the film. A Christmas Story describes an imaginary variation with the description ""Red Ryder carbine-action, two hundred shot Range Model air rifle" which is echoed in the flavor text "An official Red Rider Carbine-Action 200-Shot Range Model Air Rifle!"
• In past years the main gift of the year had been permanent items, but due to this only having 200 charges and has a world event achievement attached to it, there were rumors that the achievement was going to be turned in to a Feat of Strength, strengthened by the fact that it was not given out under the tree in 2010. It is now available for purchase from Jepetto Joybuzz in Dalaran after a hotfix. Note that this version will not grant you the Feat of Strength associated with the item.
• Will be completely refilled by Red Rider Air Rifle Ammo, also sold by Jepetto Joybuzz.
