You joined King Anduin Wrynn, Genn Greymane, and the combined might of the Alliance in storming the Ruins of Lordaeron and the Undercity in retaliation for the Horde's burning of Teldrassil, former home of the night elves. Both sides employed the use of Azerite in their war machines, a powerful new substance bubbling up around Azeroth.

After taking Varok Saurfang prisoner and cornering Lady Sylvanas Windrunner within the keep, the Banshee Queen unleashed blight throughout the city, forcing both sides to depart.

The world bears the wound of the now-captured fallen titan Sargeras, whose sword lays plunged into the sands of Silithus. You were called to the Chamber of Heart near the site of the wound by Magni Bronzebeard, speaker of Azeroth's world soul. Magni gave you the Heart of Azeroth, a powerful artifact with tied [sic] to Azeroth, with the mission to empower it in your adventures to help save the dying world.

In the wake of the Battle for Lordaeron, both sides sought allies to turn the tide of the Fourth War. You joined Lady Jaina Proudmoore on her return to her homeland of Kul Tiras to seek their naval might. After a tense reunion with Lord Admiral Katherine Proudmoore, Jaina's mother, you were imprisoned within Tol Barad with no sign of Jaina.

You escaped Tol Barad with the aid of the adventurer Flynn Fairwind, who introduced you to his friend Taelia. Taelia had connections to the city's harbormaster Cyrus Crestfall, who granted you and the Alliance a safe haven within the city of Boralus to plan your next move.

You worked to secure footholds for the Alliance across Zandalar, establishing a presence in Zuldazar, Nazmir, and Vol'dun. In the process you built up the Alliance's forces, all in preparation for a long-tailed assault on the Horde continent.

You aided Halford Wyrmbane and Sergeant Ermey in clearing Shatterstone Harbor of sethrak raiders before setting up an Alliance base in the area. Ermey made contact with an injured friendly sethrak--Vorrik--in the aftermath. Vorrik knew where the captured Private James was taken.

You helped Vorrik defend the Terrace of the Devoted against the Faithless sethrak and saved Private James. Vorrik informed you of the Faithless plot to free a dark entity called a C'thrax that once tore Vol'dun asunder before being locked away.

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner dispatched you and an elite cadre of Horde forces to Stormwind under the cover of night. The operation was to rescue none other than Princess Talanji and her escort, Zul the Prophet. These two figureheads of the Zandalari Empire had been captured by the Alliance while in transit to Orgrimmar for negotiations.

While in the Stockades, you encountered the captured High Warlord [sic] Saurfang. Although freedom was offered to him, he chose to stay behind rather than return to a Horde run by Sylvanas.

After a narrow escape from Stormwind, Princess Talanji redirected your rescue team to her home city of Zuldazar where negotiations could continue in her favor instead of Orgrimmar. There you met the Zanchuli Council and King Rastakhan, and were apprised of why the Zandalari might have any use for the Horde.

Rather than throw you from the pyramid of Dazar'alor, King Rastakhan instead showed you his thanks for rescuing his daughter by naming you Speaker of the Horde.

While you and the Horde struggle to gain the naval might of the Zandalari Empire, the Alliance has sought to gain the favor of their old allies of Kul Tiras.

This threat cannot go unmet, and so Lady Sylvanas Windrunner has dispatched you and some of the Horde's finest champions and leaders to secure footholds on this enemy isle.

You have been dispatched to Drustvar with Trade Prince Gallywix and Eitrigg to investigate the large seams of Azerite that can be mined or pillaged from the dark forest.

After navigating the forest infested with witches and other horrifying apparitions, Trade Prince Gallywix and Eitrigg decided the less-infested mountains would be the best place to install a base of operations. And so you founded Krazzlefrazz Outpost.

Rexxar sent word that Warfang Hold in Stormsong is under siege. You were assigned to High Warlord Cromush to break the siege and reinforce the outpost.

You joined forces with Rexxar on the battlefield and helped re-take and secure the foothold of Warsong Hold.

After a bribe, a disguise, and a mutiny, you secured support for the Horde in Plunder Harbor.

• A Nation Divided mentions that the player is thrown into Tol Barad. In reality, they are locked up in Tol Dagor, a different prision complex on a small island off the coast of Tiragarde Sound.
