Uldum quests
Last wiki revision 2023-09-10
Uldum is the level 83-84 zone of Cataclysm. The full breadcrumb chain to Uldum starts during the Deepholm storyline as soon as players hit level 83. Two quests open up in the player's respective faction's room in the Temple of Earth and involves a few quests at the Twilight Terrace before heading to Stormwind or Orgrimmar to check in, then down to Thistleshrub Valley in Tanaris to meet up with 's caravan.
Adarrah's quest, Easy Money, is the required first quest of the zone, as the quests before it are all optional, but they do fill in some of the lore. After completing Easy Money, the storyline proper begins in a phased version of the Lost City of the Tol'vir with Traitors!. After Escape From the Lost City, players wind up in Ramkahen on the open world and can then branch out at their leisure.
There are two parallel storylines in Uldum, one involving the tol'vir of Ramkahen and Neferset, and another involving Harrison Jones and the Coffer of Promise. Both storylines can be completed independently of one another, and there is a breadcrumb early in the tol'vir storyline that sends players to Harrison.
Breadcrumbs to the three dungeons of Uldum, the Vortex Pinnacle, the Lost City of the Tol'vir, and the Halls of Origination, exist in the form of:
- The Vortex Pinnacle (quest) offered during "Escape and retribution"
- Return to the Lost City offered upon conclusion of "Down with Neferset City"
- The Heart of the Matter (Uldum) offered upon conclusion of "Temple of Uldum".
In addition to the normal quest progression, there are four quests started by killing the local wildlife at the right time. The four quests all appear during Harrison's storyline and are marked with "Side quest" in the quest listings.
The progression of the storyline is tracked in the achievement Unearthing Uldum.
After Uldum will be the capstone level-up zone of Cataclysm, Twilight Highlands.
This optional breadcrumb chain starts out in Deepholm as soon as players hit level 83.
To Easy Money!
The Tol'vir storyline begins the zone and revolves around the conflict between the friendly Ramkahen faction and the Deathwing-aligned Neferset faction.
The first four steps of this chain unlock the rest of Uldum, and thus, are required for any other questing in the zone.
To The <High Priest/Vizier/High Commander>'s Vote chains.
After Send Word to Phaoris, players need to gain the votes of King Pharois' three advisors:
As soon as players complete the last advisor's quest, that advisor immediately offers The High Council's Decision.
After completing the three advisor chains:
Pharois then offers Return to the Lost City, which leads players back to the Lost City of the Tol'vir.
After The Defense of Nahom, an optional, hilarious, side chain opens up dealing with the Curse of the Tombs.
During Escape and retribution, early in the tol'vir storyline, players run across Mack Fearsen. Recovering from the pygmy ambush during Easy Money, he offers Take it to 'Em!, sending players up to Khartut's Tomb, the location of the ambush. Instead of finding live pygmies, players find dead pygmies, thanks to Harrison Jones, who is trying to uncover the secrets of the Coffer of Promise, an artifact of great power.
To the Obelisk of the Sun.
After Do the Honors, players are sent to Ramkahen, where Adarrah says that Harrison has gone to the Obelisk of the Sun:
To Schnottz's Landing.
At the Obelisk of the Sun, the book Efficient Excavations drops from an officer, which starts the breadcrumb to Schnottz's Landing:
To the Obelisk of the Moon.
After Firing Squad, Harrison sends players to the Oasis of Vir'sar behind the Obelisk of the Moon:
To the Temple of Uldum:
After I'll Do It By Hand, Sullah sends players to the Pilgrim's Precipice so they and Harrison can get to the Temple of Uldum:
Upon completion of Harrison Jones and the Temple of Uldum the player is awarded the achievement In a Thousand Years Even You Might be Worth Something. Upon completion of The Coffer of Promise, Brann continues with The Heart of the Matter (Uldum), which takes players inside the Halls of Origination.
