After more than 10 years with the company, on July 20, 2016, Rygarius announced that he would be leaving Blizzard at the end of the week. He described the World of Warcraft community as "the finest most passionate community I've ever served."

• Rygarius was responsible for posting patch and hotfix notes for World of Warcraft. He also had a very active Twitter account, frequently interacting with players.

• The NPC Rygarius and the item Flamelicked Cloak of Kaufebyrd are references to him. Rygarius earned his nickname "Coffee Bird" because he used a hippogryph avatar on the official forums and because his Twitter description stated that he was "powered by caffeine".
• Among his favorite voiced characters in World of Warcraft is Li Li.
• His favorite mounts to use in the game are the Silver Covenant Hippogryph, the Ashes of Al'ar and the Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger.
