Camp

Last wiki revision 2019-12-24

Camp has a few meanings in World of Warcraft and MMORPGs in general:

  • 1) Noun Any small settlement of creatures, usually the size of a village and smaller than a town, lacking significant buildings.
  • 2) Noun Where a mob spawns or where mobs spawn.
  • 3) Verb Monopolize a camp.
  • 4) Verb Staying in the same area as a player or mob to do the same repetitive actions.
  • 5) Verb "Res camp", short for "Resurrection camp", is when a player waits near an opposing player's body for them to resurrect, allowing them to kill the player easily and without warning.

In the universe of Warcraft, camp also refers to a type of a settlement, typically built by tauren, taunka, and yaungol:

  • Camp Ataya
  • Camp Mojache
  • Camp Narache
  • Camp Oneqwah
  • Camp Sungraze
  • Camp Taurajo
  • Camp Tunka'lo
  • Camp Una'fe
  • Camp Winterhoof
  • Fire Camp Bataar
  • Fire Camp Gai-Cho
  • Fire Camp Ordo
  • Fire Camp Osul
  • Fire Camp Ruqin
  • Fire Camp Yongqi

Other factions and races are known to build camps besides them. The Burning Legion is known to build forge camps.

Also, in World of Warcraft, the slash command logs you off and takes you back to the character select screen.

Camping a player character from a rooftop or other game geometry is generally considered abuse and is not allowed.
