Disenchant

Disenchant is an ability that comes with Enchanting. It extracts the magical element(s) from, or weapons and armor, which can then be used to enchant other items. The targeted item will be DESTROYED and will not be retrievable. and items, as well as items that aren't armor or weapons, cannot be disenchanted.

The blood elves at the Thalassian Base Camp had developed a special method for pulverizing the magical items they acquired, producing Glittering Dust which differed from the components normally acquired by a disenchanting spell. Archmage Xylem was interested into that dust.
