General Hammond Clay

General Hammond Clay is the successor of the late General Marcus Jonathan as commander of the defense of Stormwind City, following Jonathan's death during the Attack on Theramore Isle. He can be found at the end of the Valley of Heroes, in front of the statue of Turalyon.

He also shows up with High Sorcerer Andromath and Maginor Dumas to arrest Hogger, as did his predecessor.

When pandaren adventurers entered Stormwind for the first time, Hammond welcomed them. After Aysa Cloudsinger asked for an audience with their "emperor" to join the Alliance, he corrected her by mentioning that they would meet King Varian Wrynn at Stormwind Keep. As they left, he noticed Jojo Ironbrow's pillar and ordered them to behave well.

During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, when the city was under lockdown because of the infiltration from the Veiled Hand, Hammond organized the soldiers on the bridge, inspected the smoke explosion in Trade District and ultimately guarded the entrance of Stormwind Keep.

At the time of the Fourth War, he participated in the Battle for Lordaeron, escorting the adventurer through the Lion's Wake toward the Ruins of Lordaeron. Later, he was encountered by Horde champions that attacked an Alliance host marching from Stromgarde towards the ruins of Durnholde Keep.

After thwarting the rebellion of Duncon Ratsbon and the Defias Brotherhood, Hammond promoted the Stormwind champion into a Lionguard and bestowed them with new armor.
