Improved Power Word: Shield

Improved Power Word: Shield is a Tier 1 Discipline priest talent which increases the damage absorbed by Power Word: Shield by 10/20%.

This talent's usefulness depends on how often the priest makes use of Power Word: Shield:

• For Discipline priests: This is an excellent talent for Discipline priests, improving one of their most important abilities.
• For Holy priests: Less useful, although it may still be worthwhile depending on how often they use Power Word: Shield.
• For Shadow priests: A very helpful talent to increase survivability, especially in PvP. Since many Shadow priests will choose to talent Evangelism (original) and Archangel, the choice is often between this talent and Mental Agility (Classic), which improves mana efficiency.

By increasing the size of Power Word: Shield, this talent also increases the amount healed by Glyph of Power Word: Shield.

When combined with the Discipline mastery Mastery: Shield Discipline, 2 points in this talent actually improves Power Word: Shield by at least 24%.
