Ruun can spawn in either of the side alcoves on the second floor of the Temple of the Red Crane. Each side of this floor is patrolled by an Incarnation of Despair. Although not too difficult to defeat alone, these mobs respawn quickly, and when tackled at the same time as Ruun (especially with their 5-second stun ability 'Last Gasp') make the fight extremely dangerous. The space required to evade Ruun's Spinning Crane Kick attack makes it close to impossible to fight him in his original area without encountering these mobs. Players may therefore wish to fight him on the stairs, or if more space is required, to kite him down to the large chamber immediately below.
