Crash Course
Last wiki revision 2023-05-27
Crash Course is an official video guide series to the basics of damage-dealing at level 90 for each class, aimed at players using the Character Boost service. The first Crash Course videos were made available May 19th 2014.
The series focuses on explaining the basic damage-dealing rotation and priorities for a single DPS spec of each class. While basic buffs such as Arcane Intellect are mentioned, healing, crowd control, utility and mobility abilities and less important damage-dealing abilities are not included in the guide. Most guides explain the use of around 8 abilities in total.
The guides are intended as simple primers, designed to give players a basic grounding in a spec's core damage-dealing abilities sufficient to enable them to get started playing the class immediately. This is intended as a starting point from which players can then learn the more complex details of the class.
The developers plan to release updated versions of the videos for Warlords of Draenor, and will likely release guides to the other specs at some point. The possibility of more advanced guides is still being discussed.
