PlayerString
Last wiki revision 2020-11-11
Player strings consist of the string "player:" followed by the player is name and often colon delimited portions, which describe the chat channel the link is placed in
player:playerName[:someIdentifier:channelType[:channelDestination]]
- playerName : The name of the player
- someIdentifier : i havent figured this one out.
- channelType : The uppercase type of the channel this player string was placed in, "SAY", "GUILD", "CHANNEL", "WHSIPER".
- channelDestination : If channelType == "CHANNEL" then this will be the channel is number like 2 for trade channel, if channelType == "WHISPER" this will contain the playerName of whispers its destination
While optional portions of link strings is verry unuseual it was used for this paticular type of links, whenever a player name is named in a system message like when a player connects then, only the player name is given and all other portions are not present. When the link is placed in a channel that does not have a specific destination such as "GUILD" then the channelDestination portion is not present.
