Ancient Magic and How to Wield It Without Destroying the World

Ancient Magic and How to Wield It Without Destroying the World is a book describing the history of the greatstaff Aluneth and the arcane entity of the same name. Chapter forty-three of the book describes Meitre's discovery of Aluneth, while chapter fifty details how Meitre called upon Aluneth's energies to cast a mass teleportation spell to save him and several of his night elven comrades from an overwhelming force of demons during the War of the Ancients. Chapter sixty-one describes how Meitre chose to retreat from society and become a recluse rather than give up his connection with Aluneth when the night elves outlawed the use of arcane magic in the wake of the War of the Ancients.

During the development stages of World of Warcraft: Legion, this book was available as an item and could be found in the Scarlet Halls at the right-hand portal in the room of the last boss. However, it was removed prior to release.
