Halgrind
Last wiki revision 2023-04-04
Halgrind was a vrykul town found in Howling Fjord. During the war against the Lich King, Halgrind was exposed to the New Plague, serving as a testing ground for the Royal Apothecary Society. When the Forsaken took control of the town, the chieftain Thorvald fled. The remaining vrykul, while not dropping dead from exposure, found themselves trapped and slowly killed.
After the war against the Jailer, the brothers Bronzebeard mentioned that the village was still in ruins and a patch of blighted land.

- Plagued Dragonflayer Rune-Caster
- Plagued Dragonflayer Tribesman
- According to Magni Bronzebeard, it is a sick place, and the land knows it.
- It may be a possible reference to "Helgrind" from the Eragon series of books by Christopher Paolini.
- It could also be an amalgamation of the words "Hael", the Old-Norse word for Hell, and "Grind", the Swedish word for gate. As the vrykul are themselves a reference to vikings, it would seem very appropriate.
