The Origins of Smithing

This quest starts the alliance version of the series of quests.

Blacksmithing skill of 210 or greater.

Bring six Golden Scale Bracers to Hank the Hammer in Stormwind.

• Golden Scale Bracers (6)

When I was about your age, a dwarf by the name of Galvan took me under his wing and trained me in the ways of the armorsmith. Before he left for Booty Bay, he made me promise to train all those with the desire and determination to advance in the craft of blacksmithing—so here I am—all these years later.

So, now it's time for you to learn a little something. Make me six golden scale bracers and you will learn where smithing comes from,.

You will be rewarded with all of the following:

• 341-625 XP
• Plans: Golden Scale Gauntlets

Could you be the next Galvan protege?

Very good, ! Listen and learn.

Blacksmithing never comes from here! <Hank points to his hammer.>

Blacksmithing never comes from here! <Hank points to the anvil.>

Blacksmithing only comes from here! <Hank points to his heart.>

And now you know the origin of blacksmithing.

This is the start of the Mithril Order quests for the Alliance. If an Alliance Blacksmith wants to become an Armorsmith, they must complete this quest.

The reward recipe is tradable, if you don't care to learn these plans yourself. This is, though, the only source for this recipe.
