Gold Vein

Gold Veins rarely spawn in place of Iron Deposits or Mithril Deposits; as a result, they can be found in any zone where iron or mithril is found.

With Mining (1) in retail or Mining (155) in Classic, these veins can be looted for:

• Gold Ore (guaranteed if Mining is 155 or higher)
• Gold Ore Nugget (if Mining is 154 or lower; retail only)
• Citrine (rare)
• Jade (rare)
• Lesser Moonstone (rare)

Gold Veins in Felwood can also contain Tainted Vitriol if the player has a Cenarion Beacon in their inventory.

• Gold Veins in the Garrison Armory mine in Blasted Lands can only be mined by Horde players.
