Renown (Shadowlands)

Last wiki revision 2022-12-04

Renown is a pseudo-currency used to track the player's standing with their chosen Covenant in the Shadowlands. It's effectively a reputation, in single steps from 1 to 80. As players gain more renown, additional features and quests are unlocked.

By virtue of the sources, there's an effective cap of three Renown per week until the Covenant Campaign has concluded. After that, players will be able to gain two Renown a week going forward.

For alts, or for players who have fallen behind and/or switched covenants, additional sources will provide Renown to help catch them up to the cap. Covenant Callings will frequently grant Renown, for instance.

In patch 9.1, if players are caught up on Renown, they will only be able to acquire two or three a week. One from Replenish the Reservoir, and the other from the Shaping Fate weekly in Korthia. In weeks two through seven, the Chains of Domination campaign will award a third. The Chains of Domination (achievement) campaign will thus take seven weeks to complete.
