Shadow's Edge

Shadow's Edge is an epic weapon created from Light's Vengeance, the hammer of Arthas Menethil before he took up Frostmourne. Like Frostmourne, this blade is designed to consume the souls of its victims.

Shadow's Edge is the precursor to the legendary weapon Shadowmourne, obtained by a long and grueling quest chain (beginning with The Sacred and the Corrupt).

This item is a quest reward from the quest Shadow's Edge (quest), given by Highlord Darion Mograine at Light's Hammer in Icecrown Citadel on 25-man difficulty.

This item is only useable by warriors, paladins and death knights.

As the wielder of Shadow's Edge uses it to steal souls from the Lich King's minions in Icecrown Citadel, the Lich King will occasionally speak to them.
