Weaponsmithing

Weaponsmithing was one of two primary blacksmithing specializations (the other being Armorsmithing) which allowed access to certain BoP weapon recipes. Weaponsmithing was required to access any of the weapon sub-specialties: Axe-, Hammer-, or Swordsmithing.

Weaponsmithing was granted from the quest The Way of the Weaponsmith. It was available from at the Great Forge in Ironforge, and in Orgrimmar.

For this quest, you will need to purchase the following plans from these vendors (or Auction House):

• Plans: Moonsteel Broadsword (Requires BS 180. Buy from in Booty Bay.)
• Plans: Massive Iron Axe (Requires BS 185. Buy from at Nesingwary's Camp or at Grom'Gol Base Camp, both in Stranglethorn Vale.)

... and learn to make the following from any BS trainer:

• Heavy Mithril Axe (Requires BS 210.)
• Big Black Mace (Requires BS 230.)

To complete the quest, you need to turn in:

• 4 Moonsteel Broadsword
• 4 Massive Iron Axe
• 2 Heavy Mithril Axe
• 2 Big Black Mace

...which will require the following materials to craft:

• 56 Mithril Bar
• 32 Steel Bar
• 56 Iron Bar
• 16 Gold Bar
• 16 Heavy Grinding Stone
• 4 Solid Grinding Stone
• 12 Lesser Moonstone
• 4 Citrine
• 2 Black Pearl
• 8 Shadowgem
• 28 Heavy Leather
• 4 Thick Leather
