Deep Freeze

Deep Freeze is a level 66 Frost mage ability. It stuns a target for 4 seconds, and causes the target to be considered Frozen for the duration of its stun, turning it into yet another tool for mages to perform Shatter combos with. Deep Freeze can only be used on Frozen targets, although the Frost passive Fingers of Frost provides additional opportunities.

• This spell is perhaps best used at the very end of a Frost Nova to maximize the opponent's Shatter-able and stationary time and minimize the risk of them trinketing the effect right away.
• Can be somewhat reliably used as an interrupt when coupled with Fingers of Frost. Note, however that this spell is not off the GCD.
• Subject to diminishing returns in the controlled stun category (such as Cheap Shot) and Frost Nova, Frostjaw (mage talent) and Shattered Barrier will not diminish the results of Deep Freeze. It also shares diminishing returns with Ring of Frost.
