Black Tooth Hovel

Last wiki revision 2023-04-23

Black Tooth Hovel is an expansive Dark Horde camp in the central Burning Steppes. It is roamed by members of the Blackrock clan along with Firegut ogres and Smolderthorn trolls, and is overseen by Quartermaster Kaoshin at the Pillar of Ash. Blackrock War Kodos roam the fields in the southeastern parts.

The hovel's main point of interest is a huge statue of Anduin Lothar, sword raised in the direction of Blackrock Mountain. The monument was built months after the Second War, looking out over the same plain where Lothar had fought and died during the Siege of Blackrock Spire. The defeated orcs had been put to hard labor building up the statue, an irony that Turalyon appreciated. Curiously, the modern-day Blackrock orcs seem to ignore it. A single Lotharian Lotus grows at the base of the statue.

  • The hovel is named after the orcish Black Tooth Grin clan.
  • Prior to, the entire area was called the Pillar of Ash. In Cataclysm, the "Pillar of Ash" was condensed to the southeastern tower while the surrounding camp was renamed to "Black Tooth Hovel".

It is possible that Lothar's statue has been left untouched by the Blackrock as it would not be worth the time or resources to destroy, and quite possibly it would only bring down the ire of Stormwind City upon them. It is also possible they left the statue untouched out of respect for the skills of the former Supreme Commander.
