WoW: Forever Beta Ends With World Bosses and Legendaries
The WoW: Forever beta closed with world bosses in starting zones, free legendaries and a Scourge invasion. Launch is November 4.
TL;DR: The WoW: Forever beta ended with a free-for-all: world bosses in the starting zones, legendaries like Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker and Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros off those bosses, Tier 1 sets from low-level mobs, and a Scourge invasion. None of it carries over. Live servers open November 4.
What happened
According to Wowhead's recap, Blizzard used the final hours of the beta for a chaos event. A vendor outside the capital cities sold fireworks, a group speed scroll and a potion that boosted experience by 200%. World bosses, including Azuregos, Lord Kazzak, Thunderaan and an oversized Hogger, spawned in starting zones such as Elwynn Forest, Durotar and Tirisfal Glades.
Kills dropped legendaries, including Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker and Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros. Regular mobs in every starter zone dropped full Tier 1 sets and Molten Core weapons. To finish it off, Blizzard brought back the plague crates from the 2008 Scourge invasion event.
What this means for WoW: Forever players
- It was a stress party, not a preview of loot. Legendaries from starter zones won't happen on live. On live, Thunderfury and Sulfuras are back to being long-term raid goals.
- Name reservations open October 27 (1:00 p.m. PDT in North America), per Blizzard's WoW Weekly. Have your names ready.
- Plan your first week now. Use the talent calculator and professions planner before November 4.
News recap. Everloot has no addon data for this event yet.
